Neurological and Elderly Rehabilitation

Neurological Rehabilitation is the term used to describe the treatment that patients receive following a neurological illness, injury or a diagnosis of a long-term neurological condition. Rehabilitation is important to help patients maintain or achieve their optimum function. It is individualised and led by the patients needs and goals.

Elderly rehabilitation is maintaining and optimising the general health and ability of elderly individuals. It looks at trying to restore function or enhance the current function of an individual but overall, it is trying to improve or maintain their quality of life.

Rehabilitation for either neurological conditions or the elderly will focus on the patients individual goals and the functions they want to improve. The physiotherapist will use selected treatment methods and exercises to help the patient reach their end goal.
